Aventura Enjoys a Historical Moment at the White House

Aventura was invited to the White House to perform in celebration of their Latin American heritage and its rich musical culture.

The group met personally with President Barack Obama as well as American icons such as Supreme Court Justice, Sonia Sotomayor.

Aventura is poised to win an American Music Award in the category: Favorite Latin Music Artist.

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, a group of famous Latin artists were invited by the President of the United States, Barack Obama, to the White House. Among the privileged few, and as apt representative of the “Dominican Blues,” Bachata, was Aventura. The group met personally with the President who surprised Romeo when he stated he is not only familiar with Bachata but a great admirer of the style as well.

With the White House as a backdrop, the members of Aventura, an exclusive artist of Premium Latin Music, Inc., performed their number 1 hit “Su Veneno” as the president, his wife Michelle and his daughters Sasha and Malia moved enthusiastically to the rhythm.

After the show the group conversed with iconic Americans such as Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, with whom they posed for a flurry of photographs.

The historic and festive White House event dubbed “Fiesta Latina” included performances by musical luminaries such as Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio Estefan, Jr., Thalia, Marc Anthony, José Feliciano, Sheila E and her father Pete Escovedo as well as comedian extraordinaire, George Lopez, among others.

All the while Aventura’s 2009 record, “The Last” continues to impact the market, Presently number one in sales for this week according to Nielsen Soundscan. Aventura, a group which sold out their 1/20/2010 concert at Madison Square Garden in just in a few hours after tickets went on sale, is also positioned to receive the American Music Award on November 22nd in the category: Favorite Latin Music Artist.

Da’ Zoo is nominated for “Best New MTV TR3s Artist” and Calle 13 is nominated for “Best MTV TR3s Artist”

Los Premios MTV 2009 is this year’s hottest awards show para la música latina, and for the first time ever, el evento has turned into a multi-city musical bash. Este año Los Premios MTV will be held en varias ciudades, from South American hot spots Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Bogotá to the star-studded metropolis of Los Angeles.

Hosting the show this year are Residente of popular electro-reggaeton duo Calle 13 and international pop sensation Nelly Furtado, who will not only be sharing hosting duties, but will also be performing. Y claro, there wouldn’t be Premios without the coveted Lengua awards, up for grabs in diverse categories from “Canción del Año” y “Mejor Artista Pop” to “Artista Revelación,” y “Mejor Fan Club” among others. Bringing some U.S. sabor into the mix, MTV Tr3s is also hosting two awards of its own: “Best MTV Tr3s Artist” and “Best New MTV Tr3s Artist.”

Calle 13 releases new single & video “Fiesta De Locos”

It’s going to be crazy! Fiesta de locos is the new and fourth single from Calle 13’s latest album, the megasuccessful Los de atrás vienen conmigo.

This coming Thursday fans will be able to enjoy the latest visual clip from one of music’s most creative forces, Residente (René Pérez Joglar) and Visitante (Eduardo José Cabra Martínez), better known as Calle 13.

The video was part of a concert Calle 13 taped live this past April 17th at GEBA in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where these Puerto Rican musicians once again demonstrated their irreverent and creative talents before hundreds of fans.

It will make its U.S. debut on the Mun2 network’s “The Shuffle” TV show, at 6 p.m. and at 11 p.m. and in the artists’ native Puerto Rico; it will air at 10:00pm on the popular TV show “Anda Pa’l Cará.” Come Friday, August 28, it will be available online via

Marc Anthony was honored with a special award

stood out from a star-studded night on the Univisión awards show!

For its sixth consecutive year, the Univisión TV network’s Premios Juventud awards show dazzled and razzled audiences with some of the hottest acts in the Latin music industry today. And no doubt, among the evening’s most memorable performances, were those by Sony artists.

The show had a special moment when Marc Anthony received an award in recognition of his talents as a singer, songwriter, actor and producer. The award for “Icon of the World” was handed to him by Olga Tanon.

Alexis & Fido, Da’Zoo and Playa Limbo captured the hearts of the audience congregated at the University of Miami’s Bank United Center in Coral Gables and had everyone dancing. The show, which aired live on Thursday, July 16, celebrated some of the hottest names in music, film, sports, fashion and pop culture.

– Puerto Rican Urban music stars Alexis & Fido (Raúl Alexis Ortiz and Joel Martínez) got things going with their latest hit Ojos que no ven, an irresistible dance and rap track from their fourth and newest album, Down to Earth.

– Spanish pop sensation La Quinta Estación (vocalist Natalia Jiménez and guitar player Ángel Reyero), and Latin music icon Marc Anthony electrified everyone with their rendition of the song Recuérdame, from La Quinta’s latest CD, Sin Frenos. An impeccably dressed (as usual), sexy and radiant Natalia, and an emotive Marc, in perfect tune with Natalia, showed their true mastery of the stage with every note and move.

– Da’Zoo, a Puerto Rican quartet of rising stars and eclectic sounds – Charly Rodríguez “Charly Zo”, Freddie Lugo “Yo-Fred”, Raúl Quezada “Raggi” and Elizabeth Fuentes “Eli-Joe” – wowed music fans hungry for something different with the song Chitu, which has acquired quite a following thanks to its animated videoclip.

– On the blue carpet, before the show started, Mexican quartet Playa Limbo had the fans dancing with the tune Un gancho al corazón, theme of the soap opera of the same name.

– And Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Kany García presented an award and showed off her fresh new look!

El nuevo video promete ser una mezcla total de adrenalina

La gira internacional de su nuevo disco Down to Earth comienza este viernes, 3 de Julio en Venezuela

“Los reyes del perreo”, Alexis y Fido, pasaron el pasado martes, 30 de junio en la Pista de Carreras de Carolina, Puerto Rico en la filmacion de su nuevo video: “Mi música ehh..” de su mas reciente producción: Down to Earth. La filmacion estuvo a cargo del destacado director de videos musicales, Carlos Martin de Bam Bam DGFilms, quien ha grabado videos para los grandes del género urbano en Puerto Rico. El video relata la historia de una chica de buena familia que recibe un mensaje de texto con el lugar en donde será la fiesta con Alexis y Fido en la noche. La chica es amante al reggaetón y a la adrenalina, por lo tanto aparece ella haciendo escándalo con su súper estéreo del carro, cautivando la atención de todos los personajes que van apareciendo en su camino hacia la fiesta. En una de las escenas la chica se encuentra en una de las luces con Alexis y Fido y los reta a ellos a una carrera hasta llegar al lugar en donde ellos se presentaran. Con este nuevo video Alexis y Fido regalaran a su público ritmos originales con la esencia de reggaetón que tanto les distingue y una mezcla de visuales muy energizantes que causaran sensación total.

Alexis y Fido se preparan para comenzar la gran anticipada gira de Down to Earth este viernes, 3 de julio, en Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. Así como una serie de eventos que tienen en agenda. A su vez, se encuentran grabando su disco de mensajes positivos el cual pretende concientizar a su público de muchos problemas sociales que se están viendo a nivel mundial, el mismo se espera esté listo para noviembre de este año.

Da’ Zoo enjoying the success of their new single from their first album

Da’Zoo will be taking their fresh new sound to Miami and Los Angeles in July as part of an extensive promotional tour. They will be performing on July 16th at the “Premios Juventud. The video for the single, a fantastic adventure inspired by an original storyline,has earned them high rotation on various music channels. In August the band will also be appearing on the HTV network show, “En La Mira”. Currently they are the featured band on the popular “Descubre y Download” on MTV Tr3s. Da’Zoo will also be performing with The Corrsi n a series of upcoming concerts in Puerto Rico.
