ANNOUNCES THE NOMINATIONS OF THEIR ARTISTS

ALEXIS & FIDO, LOS PIKADIENTES DE CABORCA, PLAYA LIMBO,
REIK, REY RUIZ, LA SECTA ALLSTAR AND SHAKIRA
ARE AMONG THE ARTISTS NOMINATED
THE CEREMONY WILL BE BROADCAST LIVE ON THE UNIVISION NETWORK
THIS UPCOMING FEBRUARY 18TH FROM THE AMERICAN AIRLINE ARENA
Sony Music congratulates their artist nominees to the 2010 “Premio Lo Nuestro” awards, announced this afternoon in the city of Miami by the Univision network.
In the Pop Music genre we highlight Spanish group La Quinta Estación with four nominations that include: “Album of the Year” for their production “Sin Frenos”, “Group or Duet of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for the track “Que te Quería”; as well as “Video of the Year,” for their work alongside Marc Anthony on the track “Recuérdame.”
Also, in the Pop genre, Playa Limbo scored two nominations for “Group or Duet of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for their track “Así Fue.” Reik adds their name to the list of nominees as “Group or Duet of the Year.” On their end, Sonohra and Victor & Leo were both nominated for “Best New Artist or Group of the Year.”
In the Rock genre, La Secta Allstar counts on two nominations, “Album of the Year” for “Fuego” and “Song of the Year” for “Déjalos Que Hablen.”
Once again, the Tropical genre opens the way for “El Caballero de la Salsa”, Gilberto Santa Rosa, nominated “Male Artist of the Year”, “Tropical Salsa Artist of the Year” and “Tropical Song of the Year,” for the track “Llego el Amor.”
Jorge Celedon and Jimmy Zambrano received two nominations for “Traditional Tropical Artist of the Year” and “Group or Duet of the Year.” Additionally, Rey Ruiz received the nomination for “Tropical Album of the Year” for his production “El Mensaje.”
The Regional Mexican genre includes nominations to the illustrious Vicente Fernandez for “Male Artist of the Year,” “Ranchero Artist of the Year,” and “Song of the Year,” for his track “El Ultimo Beso,” and lastly in the new category, “Premio Lo Nuestro Artist of the Year.”
On their end, Los Pikadientes de Caborca were nominated for “Grupero Artist of the Year” and the group Intocable for “Norteño Artist of the Year.”
Other nominated artists include Alexis y Fido for “Urban Album of the Year,” for their production “Down to Earth.” Calle 13 scored two nominations including one in the new category “Collaboration of the Year” for the track “No hay Nadie Como Tu” featuring Café Tacuba and “Video of the Year” for the track “La Perla,” featuring Ruben Blades Lastly, Shakira howls in the same category for her video “Loba.”
The Premio Lo Nuestro award ceremony will be broadcast live on February 18, 2010 from the American Airline Arena Miami on the Univision network.
